In this case it was pretty blatantly rigged. Vance still coming out on top in most reactions (translated from CNN saying it was tied and NYT copping to it)
But there's never been a moment in any presidential debate, not even at the primary level, like CBS just lying about what defines an illegal alien in a fact check they promised not to do minutes earlier, and muting a candidates mic as he calls out their lie.

Obama had a debate where the moderator wrote a book about how amazing Obama is. And that was like the god of neutrality by comparison.

Didn't watch, but based on the morning's news it's pretty clear that Vance won.

the more the unfairly moderate these debates the more they give ammo to the Trump camp to harbor undecided voters.

just like in 2016 they are hanging themselves to try and maintain a phony moral highground, and their fact checks are quickly disproven by even a single google search that pulls up the AI generated response. not even big tech can back up these fools.

His PhD is not in mathematics but when he was completing his Masters at Northwestern he was top 1% in Mathematics. That means that amongst his peers he was smarter then 99% when it came to mathematics. Test scores and student body academic evaluations.

If you go to Northwestern or any other Ivy League school and somehow you are smarter then the "smartest" people in the country when it comes to math...(like others have mentioned) you will be recruited by the highest levels of the US government/Private industry.

I will admit that him having the eye-disorder he does helped him to excel in this area. As a kid growing up and even into the beginning of his academic endeavors he had to use "specially made textbooks" that were much bigger then the average textbook. This is because his pupils would be bouncing around in his eyes in every direction. He could not drive either because he legally wasn't allowed. He went from his mom driving him around to the US government picking him up and driving him to undisclosed locations. The joke in our family has always been he's working on alien technology because he actually did get flown to and was interviewed for a position near "Area 51". You don't get flown out for an interview at a place like that unless they are seriously impressed with your "intellectual capacity".

His ability to solve complex math problems in his head is something you'd see on a T.V show where the person somehow can do what no one else can. If you said, "Hey David what's 46,338 divided by 14 x 10" he would rattle you off the answer instantaneously.

His "intellectual gift" was the result of a crippling eye disorder. He had near photographic memory as well which is crazy.

After working at the NSA for 2 years are family finally got to see him during a holiday and his eyes were NORMAL. No jagged movement. Nothing. We all couldn't believe it. Whether the US government has a cure or he was given some new medication who knows.

The sad part or at least the concerning one is that the most powerful corporate/government entities are using his "retard savant intelligence" to their own ends. My Grandpa once said, "He sold his soul to the devil, look deep into his eyes he's not there anymore, they changed him".

As his cousin I fear for his safety and so does a lot of my family. Imagine someone you knew was crazy smart like that and you knew the people who employ him were using his intelligence for their own end. Doesn't sound fun or nice.

Of course there's the people who joke and say, "He's so lucky" "If shit really hits the fan on the planet the government knows they "need him" so they won't leave him to die like they will the rest of us". Sort of like the movie 2012 at the end where all the top scientist and billionaires get on the giant ARK ship so they live.

The point I'm making is that the most intelligent amongst us work for the most powerful elite interest.

When I see the politicians they put on those podiums and I hear how dumb they all sound I try and remember that the military industrial complex runs our country from behind the scenes and my cousin is one of those individuals giving them the "numbers". Joe Biden can't do math. Donald Trump can't do math. But the top scientist who work for the government? Yea they are doing all the math and calculations. They are giving the "statistical analysis" using advanced AI being overseen by the most intelligent people in our country. That's the good news.

Idk I have a (average) masters degree of a top university in germany in mathematics/machine learning and the peers that were exceptional went to meta, heading the robotics division of Bosch, one went into consulting with me and two are currently on their way to be professors - i.e. mostly boring jobs were you make yourself and mostly other people money. Your cousin might be an outlier for some reason or another, alternatively it's just different in the US.

If the league is narcissistic, borderline racist populists. Then yes.
