doing things for people to make their lives better even if they hate you for it is the sign of a leader who understands their job, not a yuppy who simply answers all of the mob's demands.
he laid out his platform, and told his plans. if that appeals to voters he would have won, if he won that is how democracy works. who ever gets the most votes does what those vote casters want.
honestly tho most of the people who are in need of RFK's core platform are too in denial to accept it. imagine being told your depression, economic struggles, poor health, etc are all the result of policies that can be fixed. you're left to wonder why no one has helped you before if its really that simple, so you deny it can be real. this has been the path of american poor health forever. you're told to limit calories, work out, and get outside to get some sun. few people bother to do it then wonder why we have skyrocketing levels of chronic health issues that dust bowl farmers living on 500 calories a day didnt. obesety makes sense given the vast increase of available calories, the cancers, mental health issues, autism and auto immune diseases dont make nearly as much sense.
Spot on.
From the perspective of someone who used to be very unhealthy though not to the point of obesity (skinny fat) who then started taking it seriously and is now a physical culturist, it's
shockingly clear how all of these issues have a singular root cause, which is lack of activity and lack of regulating what you eat. Which is hard to do on your own, which is why government should serve the people and facilitate/encourage it through policy, which they don't. But it's psychically incredibly hard for people to admit this and/or recognize it, and they resort to what we call copium. It's unironically sad.
