Biden stuck to the facts. He definitely zoned multiple times and forgot wtf he was talking about, but...

I will choose a corpse over Trump who spent the entire debate LYING off his ass. He did not say one thing that had any substance. If it was facts vs lie, Biden won. Trump won in the stamina portion, but stamina doesn't run a country.

Biden has competent cabinet members and team members. Trump's are indicted.

Biden lost this round, for sure, but I don't count him out. I do believe it narrowed the election from a sure win to "Who knows". Either way, I'll vote Biden and if we get Trump I'll just sit around as a CIS white male and say "I told you so" when the country goes to shit.

But I agree, at this point, even Kamala would be a stronger candidate for Democrats. She's part of the Biden administration and thus saddled with the same shitty track record. She's unlikable and generally stands for the same policy direction. Answering surpsise questions off the cuff isn't her strong suit either. And she's not a strong communicator. But at least she has a pulse and will be able to convey some sort of energy and optimism about the future. And she should be able to read from a teleprompter or rattle off her memorized stump speech/debate talking points.

He didn't just read off a teleprompter, he dealt with heckling from members of Congress. But clearly he's deteriorated. He can still give a decent speech off a teleprompter but he's no longer able to handle a debate or press conference. And the fact that he's trying to continue in this race is a massive stain on his legacy, and the people around him should be ashamed.

Likewise, he came across as highly geriatric before and after the SOTU. The right has been pushing clips of him being "dementia Joe" since he started running for president in 2019. He went on to beat Trump in the debates, and did well in major speeches. I think I tuned most of the noise out and focused on big moments, where he either did well or okay. And the debate showed how he's not the man he was in 2020.
