I didn't either after I fixed it.

I don't understand what you fixed. Just claiming a bunch of liberals are conservatives does not make them so.

Not an argument.

i was being hyperbolic, i just hate a lot of the absolutist arguments wherein the other side is reduced to nothing. Thing's like "studies have proven ____ handle ____ better." then the poster goes on to state this as some objective fact to needlessly measure their ideology's dick.

I don't think u can really objectively say what makes the US great, much less pin it to two factors. Both are important for sure, but i think both are less important than our abundance of natural resources. And of course the ideologies themselves are really just talking points that are overstated, most people are centrists. Most people hold tenants of both ideologies.

many arguments can be made against such an open ended claim, but my point was more why bother arguing over it anyways. It serves no more purpose in my mind than the "trump won get over it" posts. that's fine if you're not trying to make a point, many of my posts are the same. its just pard has been a pretty scummy cess pool lately, not a triggering argument laden forum no, not that kind of cess pool. Its predictable and boring. Its turned into the Good Housekeeping of the shitter side magazine rack.

Yeah but it's fun.

if we could just get all "trump won in 2016 deal with it / thanks to you" and "liberals/progressives are almost all the smart people" posts out of the sub PARD would be a decent place.

if the reasonable fuckwads that aren't far left or far right could be more reliable in all elections the country would be a decent place

it's not a right or left issue it's a decency issue and decency has been increasingly left by the wayside on both sides

I'm voting for that goofy uncle Kasich (would have voted for him vs Clinton) next time just so I can vote for a non doucher

Just claiming you're clueless. As I know many programmers and engineers in my field of work that are definitely not liberal. Too put it simply for you it's more about location and background of where people are raised than what their job title is.

Most engineers and programmers aren't scientists. A scientist is somebody actively performing research.

i supported kasich from the get go, shame he never got the traction he needed. TBH i think that people just wanted to see a cage match. maybe after 4 years of dumbfuckery we'll get the taste for an actual election between people fit to lead the country. No clintons, no bushes, no obamas, no trumps, no kennedys, etc etc etc.

Hell i'd prob even take Rubio at this point, Jeb should stay on the bench though.

scientists and researchers were chosen as "the people making the US great" without much of a real argument behind it. Integral to our success sure, even close to a majority of the reason we as a country are successful? no, that's just silly.

Meh, remove all practicing scientists and the entirety of the United States would crumble in about 20 years. Our scientists, both in academia and industry, are a pretty big reason the United States is as successful as it has been.
