There are countless examples of Palestinians and their supporters taking down Israeli flags and chanting offensive slogans, everywhere. There's probably a short list of countries in the US/EU that are exceptions, like the Vatican City
If I'm looking at the last time anti-Israeli groups marched chanting a call for genocide against Jews in my city I'm counting the hours or days since. Let me think, when was the last one? About 14 hours ago they were at Loring Park chanting "from the river to the sea" and passing out patches with it printed on them. I saw a sign with "Free america from zionist control" but I'm not sure they had any Hamas flags this time around, I think Hamas might be losing a bit of favor since the same group had loads of Hamas flags last time.
Low level vandalism, heckling, chanting slogans aren't in any way equivocal to hunting down jews
I understand the emotions, but particularly in The Netherlands - things are done differently. We defend our Jews, but also we do not allow foreigners messing up our Arabs.
I have personally seen plenty of streets where both flags of Israel and Palestine hang next to each other. Violence is prosecuted. If you can’t coexist - you are not welcome.
I repeat - Jew hunt organized in the aftermath of attacks on Taxi drivers was despicable and those involved will all be prosecuted. The more evidence they post on X the better and easier it will be to identify all involved.
We have had pro-Palestine university campus protests for a while now, but as far as i know those were all nonviolent. A Palestinian protest on the Dam square has been there for two decades I think. Dutch companies are being actively sued for their role in monetisation of West Bank settlements (eg Booking.com listing settlements in Kfar Adumim for rent).
Amsterdam is a very Jewish friendly city and we defend our Jews against hate crimes. That doesn’t mean that people from Israel can come here and break our laws.
Many Israeli companies are moving their personnel here in aftermath of October 7th. A butcher shop on the corner from me has been bought by a very friendly guy from Israel who has sold his restaurant and moved to Amsterdam. I buy his steaks almost every week and he knows me by my first name.
I also have plenty of Arab/Muslim friends who are all shocked by the violence and stand united against those who perpetrated it. Trust me this is a big thing for Amsterdam and The Netherlands.
