He's a complete embarrassment to the country.

I'm happy with the Trump presidency so far.

I mean, he's causing serious damage by removing progress that Obama made, but that was expected no matter who was in charge.

The real reason I'm happy is because the Republicans are so dysfunctional they have passed virtually nothing that could really harm the country, and in the mean time his base is eroding and liberals are getting pissed enough to come out to vote.

It's on the dems in 2018 and 2020 to not fuck this up again.

Midterm elections. I'm assuming Democrats will take the house, which will basically prevent Trump from passing anything meaningful before getting his ass kicked in 2020.

What are the chances that, if Dems do get a clear victory in the midterm elections, the GOP will try to get rid of Trump before 2018 (assuming potentially impeachment-worthy conclusions come out of the Comey issue)?

In that scenario they'd probably be better off reconstructing the party with a new candidate for the presidential elections. But on the other hand, if the GOP does win the midterm elections, Trump's position would probably be strengthened as a viable 2020 candidate...
