Donald Trump has held a consistent message about the economy and jobs, not so consistent on Obamacare and not so much message on taxes.
The democrats this past few years, particularly in the last election, were totally vacant on policy
So not very high on the irony-o-meter

I mean I could copy/paste the link to the HRC policy-free ad campaign numbers for the millionth time but I think it shouldn't take much explaining that when one party has the message of "Fight globalism and make the middle class great again" while the other party's best defining message is "Stop that guy", its fair to say that the latter party lacks a coherent policy message. I'm not sure the democrats even know what they want, just what they don't want.

irony doesn't imply democrats aren't all fuckered up right now

hard to deny seeing those words coming from the right is worth a good chuckle given the context of the last 8 years

From the obstructionist house republicans? It would be ironic. From Trump? Not so much.

Trump is accusing democrats of lacking a message. It would be ironic if Trump lacked a message too. But Trump has a message and has been thumping it over our heads for a year. And democrats do lack a message. They're just the anti-Trump party at this point, and policy has been thrown out the window in favor of hysteria. The tea party republicans lack a message now they're still stuck with the policies of deficit reduction and obstructionism when the party mainstream doesn't give a shit about the debt and wants big spending bills to put America back to work. The republicans as a whole have an incoherent message due to the fractious nature of the coalition between the varied, competing interests also featuring the likes of neolibs, neocons, libertarians, bernouts, etc. Hell even the green party lacks a message now that Jill Stein is basically an anthropomorphized walking recount. Trump certainly doesn't lack a message- but he's a little less coherent on some of the topics he brought up, like his scattershot and lack of commitment on Obamacare, and charitably at best a very small spattering of the typical republican line of tax cuts.

while I generally agree, I feel like there currently is a big lack of policy leadership. everything revolves around trump atm, congress, the media, the white house, trump himself. but he is not and was never meant to be the one to leading the discussions about policy itself. on the campaign trail, he gave broad ideas in vague terms, and in many cases I like what he came up with. but now, he isnt leading, he isnt setting priorities, he doesnt tell "his" party what to focus on next. despite controlling the white house and both chambers of congress, the republican leadership is in disarray. it feels a lot like trump, mcconnel, ryan, mccain, the freedom caucus, they all do their own thing.... they're running around like headless chicken. its all a gigantic f***ing mess. I really wish trump would get his sh!t together in this specific regard and either show his party the way, or give authority to one of the senior republican leaders to set and advance the agenda while/whenever trump is busy with other things...

Its actually a mutual exchange, the lobbyists are mostly former politicians who get favors from their buddies and in turn get them lobbyist positions when they leave office.
