well, the republicans won the race in a R+30 district by 7%, i.e. they underperformed by 23%. I wouldnt read too much into one single result, but if it carries any predictive information about the upcoming midterms, it's an encouraging one for the democrats and alarming for republicans.

imho we will have to wait for the special election in Georgia 6, which will tell us a lot more than an election in rural kansas.

Plenty of reasons for the closer than usual contest in a special election. its not directly representative or proportional to what would happen elsewhere.

Mostly the Russian hacking+Wikileaks, with her own campaign's ineptitude at a distant second.

The rest is just deflecting blame.



I'm guessing there must be someone new who is in Trump's ear now? Bannon on the way out, probably due to this person or group's suggestion? No idea, just an idea. If it's true kinda scary how easily manipulated he is though, though luckily it seems to be in a somewhat better direction with his changed stance on NATO for example.
