Your post I quoted had the terms "crime" (= breaking the law), "norms" and "abstract norms" in it. Apparently referring to three different kinds of rules. Now where's the difference and what is it we're talking about here? Would you state that his supporters don't place importance on crime? Are we talking about potential crimes here?
And then you apparently draw a line between "importance" and "great importance" (which I actually quoted in my post) leaving the distinction to the rest of us.
It was a vague post, that's all I'm saying.
- claiming to think of norms as at least "important" is what nearly everyone does. "great importance" was intended to delineate those who actually prioritize norms in the decision-making and opinion-forming process from those who only pay lip service to it.
- abstract norm violations are those where norms are violated, but without being tied to a crime which actually violates people's moral sentiment.
- of course Trump supporters place importance on crime - but more on the concrete, tangible types of crime rather than process crime.
