Bernie Sanders is incredibly low personal worth for somebody who's been in government his entire life and ran for president twice.

There's this weird thing with Bernie where if he's not that wealthy then he's incompetent because everybody else in government gets rich, but if he is wealthy then he's a hypocrite for having money while he says taxes should go up.

Like, it could also be the middle, where he was decently well off and only recent got a good paycheck from a book deal because he's just a good dude who doesn't milk his position for cash like most others.

If you have vacation home you are well off. If you have THREE you are wealthy.

He's pretty wealthy now.

In 2015 he reported ~750k in net assets, which isn't a low number but he was deep into his career.

The real pay day came in 2016 and on when he got a book deal which has made him a lot of money.

So pretty normal. Not poor, not exactly wealthy until his recent deal.
