so there is this bill that paul ryan drafted, that is very unpopular. it is handling a subject so difficult that republicans on their own struggle to find a middle ground: it seems almost impossible to draft a health care bill that isnt either too extreme for moderate republicans or too moderate for right-wing freedom caucus representatives.

so... a bill drafted by paul ryan on one of the toughest subjects if failing because house republicans cant get their shit together, and this means trump and his administration are failing? :wallbash:
this isnt failing, this is democracy.

>"We've had three bomb threats in the last five years, and they've all happened in the last 60 days," Jackson, a Democrat who represents North Carolina's 37th district, tells Rolling Stone. "Find me the person who thinks that's a coincidence."
>Jackson has an idea what Trump meant. "We know what he was saying. Of course he was suggesting that this is a false-flag operation and that Jewish people are faking bomb threats for political reasons,” he says.
>"The man is a maniac," Jackson says. "He has been deeply reluctant to address the surge in anti-Semitism that has paralleled his rise. That's not a coincidence. … He understands that a large portion of his base is sympathetic [to anti-Semitism], so he is not going to say one word more about it than he absolutely has to."

yes... I absolutely dont deny that it was moronic by trump to disrespect the beast that is health care reform while on the campaign; and I absolutely dont think it is smart of him to support ryancare as vocally as he does.

I also like the symbolism. They wanted to vote on the 7th anniversary Obamacare was passed, and they end up having to delay it a day because they don't have the votes. This is the greatest reality show in history.

The ironic thing about the GOP's ACA repeal effort is that the only single way it can be successful is if they implement the exact strategy that they've long claimed, incorrectly, was used to pass the ACA originally (and that they've spent all this time condemning).

They've spent all these years telling these same specific lies about the passage of the ACA -- that it was passed "in the dead of night," "rammed through Congress," "in secret," "without people reading it," and that "it was designed to fail." Each of those claims is a bald-faced lie that falls apart under even the flimsiest amount of scrutiny, but the entire party has been regurgitating these same lines year after year hoping to create this alternate legislative history for the ACA. The thing is, all of the things that they've said and that were untrue about the passage of the ACA need to be true about the passage of their bill, otherwise it doesn't have a prayer of passing.

I'm seriously so sick of hearing about Trump already; he's a fringe candidate who stands no chance at getting the nomination. He's this year's Ron Paul (gets tons of attention on the internet but loses by a landslide).

Trumpcare flatlining. Just keep the legislation from the more competent party they say, we can't do this.

CNN- Recent revisions to the Republican health care bill means it would cost more, and still leave 24 million fewer people insured by 2026, new estimates from the Congressional Budget Office show.

The legislation to repeal major portions of Obamacare would reduce federal deficits by $150 billion over 10 years, according to the revised estimates. The original bill would have lowered the deficits by $337 billion.

The new score comes as House Republicans frantically try to shore up support for the bill. House leaders were forced to postpone voting on the measure Thursday, as conservative members continued to oppose it.

The agency revised its figures to reflect amendments made to the bill that were announced on Monday. The new numbers do not take into account a deal underway to woo House conservatives to support the measure.

Though the bill would be more costly, it would still leave 24 million fewer people insured than under current law. Some 52 million people would be uninsured in 2026 under the GOP legislation, compared to 28 million if Obamacare continued -- the same as the prior estimate.

Also, it did not change the agency's outlook on premiums, which it expects would be higher initially, but then roughly 10% lower than Obamacare by 2026.

The initial score sparked outrage and concern that so many people would be left uninsured. Under Obamacare, the uninsured rate fell to the lowest level on record.

The white house budget office estimated 26 million uninsured, worse than the CBO.

Pretty pathetic.
