I also like the symbolism. They wanted to vote on the 7th anniversary Obamacare was passed, and they end up having to delay it a day because they don't have the votes. This is the greatest reality show in history.
The ironic thing about the GOP's ACA repeal effort is that the only single way it can be successful is if they implement the exact strategy that they've long claimed, incorrectly, was used to pass the ACA originally (and that they've spent all this time condemning).
They've spent all these years telling these same specific lies about the passage of the ACA -- that it was passed "in the dead of night," "rammed through Congress," "in secret," "without people reading it," and that "it was designed to fail." Each of those claims is a bald-faced lie that falls apart under even the flimsiest amount of scrutiny, but the entire party has been regurgitating these same lines year after year hoping to create this alternate legislative history for the ACA. The thing is, all of the things that they've said and that were untrue about the passage of the ACA
need to be true about the passage of their bill, otherwise it doesn't have a prayer of passing.
