Having a president at war with the establishment, at war with the media and at war with the IC had predictable results. Trump didnt have serious baggage before the campaign, it was manufactured each step of the way. Not even 9/11 fallout was as hysterical as sustained as this circus shitshow, its been a year and its only grown stronger.

Nothing against Obama or Mitt in the past 5 years. Back 8 years ago we had a minor bump in loss of civility when McCain went for Sarah Palin and the racist shadow campaign against Obama (and HRC's contribution). And that still wasnt even a 0.2 on the Ebola scale

IDK, Bush was pretty disastrous for our country's morale and spirit. That's really when America started to become an international joke.

How is he at war with the media though? He is making them millions in ad money and they worked so hard to keep him in the spotlight.

I don't know, seems they've partnered up.

Trump at war? Nah, he would dodge another draft for sure. He is too good to be in the military

But we were relatively united as a country domestically. We were the brash morons on the international stage playing world police. Even the antiwar dissenters werent treated anywhere near todays hostility. Now its domestic strife ripping the country apart.

We were post 9/11, but in his later years we got split pretty hard. That's actually where the big schism started. Now, it's without a doubt worse today, but the origins can certainly be traced back to those years.

that also had a lot to do with war fatigue and the market crash/great recession, those tend to make people irritable (rightly so)
