even if you decide to reject all the evidence that Trump is corrupt and/or incompetent; his presidency has been an absolute disaster for our country's morale and spirit... this is the saddest, most divisive state the American people have been in in a long time

This is true but I'm afraid it will continue to get worse until one side capitulates.

this trend started long before his presidency. Or was everything a-ok last 8-12 years?
then again the prior administration(s) didnt have the media looking for every molehill to make mountain out of so early on (too busy lauding Pres Obama's nobel peace prize and date night). Even took them a while to ramp up the rhetoric and agenda against Pres GW Bush.
also these organizations reporting outright guttertrash (ie: buzzfeed 2.0 with the 'dossier' to two-scoops gate) to generate views in their failing efforts to stay relevant doesnt help American morale.

not to mention the prior admin didnt have Bush holdovers actively seeking to subvert our republic on a daily basis.

in a small way i dont blame their (mainstream media) behavior as they were called out for being the fools that they are for months, they had their ideal candidate lose the election (that debate moderator crying on tv when President Trump won lmao), the #fakenews stunt backfired on them, so now they're pretty mad and decided to stop doing their jobs (they now report their slant/opinion of the news as fact rather than present facts in an objective manner). Its what low-class people do.

e: they (media) dont care about our republic so no 1 should care about them

Things were much different prior to 2016. The trend really started around the GOP primary, and mostly due to Trump and the media reaction to him, and especially the new media of Facebook+Twitter and the spread of fake news and insult-driven political talk has been the driving force behind this new broken US IMO.
