Why doesn't this argument work for the things she supports? She's okay with implementing all sorts of policy that impacts my life...but I'm not allowed to do the same, because my views are influenced by my religious beliefs?
It's a dumb argument, particularly concerning abortion. "If you don't support abortion, don't get one" is about as morally problematic as saying "if you don't support murder, don't commit one" or "if you don't support slavery, don't hold slaves".
Progressives will just have to get over the fact that right-wing religious people have political power.
You have to realize that there a lot of people who are "liberal/libertarian/love democracy" until you have an opinion that differs from them. It's a disturbing trend in this country on both sides of the aisle. Sometimes your side loses and that's okay. It means you need to regroup and come up with better arguments.
If the majority of people want to impose a certain way of life on others, that's acceptable unless it directly contradicts another principle that your country is founded on (discrimination laws come to mind).
