I'd be curious in hearing the opinions of presidential historians as to whether Trump is the most emotionally immature president in history.

there were a few other presidents who were easy to goad with taunts, but they were also in an era where manliness meant a lot more.

And in an era where they weren't so publicly visible. Everything Trump does is recorded. Back in the 1800's, people might not even know who the president was.

too true, twitter is forver. celebs cant even delete them fast enough if they mess up. His hero Jackson used to hit people with his cane and was who i had in mind with the "easy to goad" bit

Jackson's quick temper was notorious. Brands says, "His audacity on behalf of the people earned him enemies who slandered him and defamed even his wife, Rachel. He dueled in her defense and his own, suffering grievous wounds that left him with bullet fragments lodged about his body."[62] However, Remini is of the opinion that Jackson was often in control of his rage, and used it (and his fearsome reputation) as a tool to get what he wanted in his public and private affairs.[165]

Brands also notes that his opponents were terrified of his temper: "Observers likened him to a volcano, and only the most intrepid or recklessly curious cared to see it erupt. ...His close associates all had stories of his blood-curling oaths, his summoning of the Almighty to loose His wrath upon some miscreant, typically followed by his own vow to hang the villain or blow him to perdition. Given his record—in duels, brawls, mutiny trials, and summary hearings—listeners had to take his vows seriously."[166]

On the last day of the presidency, Jackson admitted that he had but two regrets, that he "had been unable to shoot Henry Clay or to hang John C. Calhoun."[167]

Andrew Jackson is my least favorite president and IMO responsible for everything wrong with politics today.

just think, he was only 20 years from preventing the civil war....

i agree, he needs to be removed from US Currency. ignored the chain of command to seize FL, supported slavery, trail of tears, etc etc. oh yeah, he was the hero of New Orleans, credit where its due and all that. good job hiding in wagons while fighting those who used the conventional field tactics.

He's the one that popularized this shit-show of carnival politics we have today by making it an entertainment-based fuckfest instead of focusing on policy.
/e
In fairness, if he didn't do it someone would have eventually, but he did it so I blame him.
