Why doesn't this argument work for the things she supports? She's okay with implementing all sorts of policy that impacts my life...but I'm not allowed to do the same, because my views are influenced by my religious beliefs?

It's a dumb argument, particularly concerning abortion. "If you don't support abortion, don't get one" is about as morally problematic as saying "if you don't support murder, don't commit one" or "if you don't support slavery, don't hold slaves".

Progressives will just have to get over the fact that right-wing religious people have political power.
