Russian citizens do not seem to be taking the invasion well and seem to be experiencing a lot of national shame.
Putin had some 70% support for this operation according to the polls. There is some 5% of the Russian population which is opposed to anything Putin does, though, and I think some of them are protesting in Moscow.
However, a few thousand protestors representing less than 5% of the Russian population's viewpoints does not indicate that Russians in general oppose the move or feel ashamed by it. There is tons of outrage in Russia against the treatment of Donbass by Ukraine. Actually, Russians have been pissed for a while now feeling like Putin actually hasn't been doing enough.
I strongly believe this move will boost Putin's support amongst the former naysayers whom were complaining he wasn't doing enough to stand up to the West.
