Now, he started off relatively strong and sufficiently focused, and progressively lost track the longer he spoke. Although his answer devolved into rambling by the end, if you listened to him with a modicum of good will, it wasnt actually diffiucult to keep track of the guiding thread.
Would a performance like this be enough to
dominate Trump in the debates? Hell no. But would it be enough for Biden to hold his ground and debate Trump to at least a draw? Absolutely, and with ease.
Generally speaking, I think this interview shows the sad decline of Biden. He had a convincing point to make, but he wasnt
quite able to deliver it in a concise and convincing fashion. Ten years ago, he would have nailed this response. Right-wing banter that he's gone fully senile is of course blowing things out of proportion, but it's undeniable that he has lost a step or two. Which is a pity.
