The Biden of today is not the Biden of 4 years ago let alone 10-15 years ago when one might say he was in peak form.

I think he struggles with being coherent during the debates. I personally would find it incredible if he goes for more than 30 minutes without some gaffe.

While I agree with all of that, it must be admitted that the same is true for Trump. He, too, is struggling to be coherent, to go longer than 30 minutes without some gaffe, and not quite as sharp as he was 10-15 years ago.

He becomes more unhinged by the day.

This is the crux of the issue. Even at Biden's worst, he's only as bad as Trump is normally. It's hard for people to take criticisms of Biden's mental state seriously when they've seen Trump ramble about random topics for 4 years.

Like I said yesterday, Trump must find a way to make people fear Biden's policies and agenda. Attacking Biden's personality or qualification for the job wont work unless he literally loses control of his bowel functions during the live debates.

A\t the same time he is debating and uneducated moron who has like 300 words in his vocabulary and can't put two coherent sentences together, so i wouldn't worry about gaffes.

I actually liked the things he had to say. I dont necessarily agree with everything, but the core argument he made is sensible and cogent.
Now, he started off relatively strong and sufficiently focused, and progressively lost track the longer he spoke. Although his answer devolved into rambling by the end, if you listened to him with a modicum of good will, it wasnt actually diffiucult to keep track of the guiding thread.

Would a performance like this be enough to dominate Trump in the debates? Hell no. But would it be enough for Biden to hold his ground and debate Trump to at least a draw? Absolutely, and with ease.

Generally speaking, I think this interview shows the sad decline of Biden. He had a convincing point to make, but he wasnt quite able to deliver it in a concise and convincing fashion. Ten years ago, he would have nailed this response. Right-wing banter that he's gone fully senile is of course blowing things out of proportion, but it's undeniable that he has lost a step or two. Which is a pity.

That was painful to watch and I genuinely feel bad for him. His train of thought seems really strained. Not sure how you watched that and didn’t feel the cringe.
