I listened to every testimony at the House hearings. IMO, the State Dept. which is supposed to be working FOR the POTUS, was doing w/e the fuk they wanted, rather than what the Pres. wanted.
If I was Trump I would have called them back and removed them, long ago.

/e Re-listen to those testimonies... with an ear to my theory of a State Dept. that was pretty much off the reservation, and I think you'll agree.

Once again Trump shows us he runs the White House like a capo, demanding unquestioning loyalty of you will be purged.

It's gonna take a long time for the value of the Office and the Presidency to get back to what it was, if that's even possible.

Things may fix themselves once democrats get the 3 houses in 2021.
I means for the rest of the world: "oh these Americans ultimately understood that something was wrong".

Yep. Its crazy that he will make toadies stand up during his speeches, like SOTU, and talk about how great he is. Who does that?

Plus the GOP has sacrificed all principle and honor by refusing the investigate the president's crimes for the sole reason he was their president. They validated the president's activities. They validated Richard Nixon's argument that if the president does it then it's not a legal. What Nixon has going on was very very tame compared to what trump has going on.

you smoking rocks? everything about this statement is wrong.
first to bold. perhaps you forgot some of the things Nixon was involved in. try reading up on "the plumbers".

second to GoP. the "Senate" looked at the impeachment articles brought from the House. the first article "contempt of Congress", is literally a bs article. it's full admittance of the House that they didn't bother to investigate. that is all it is.
the second article had some more leeway to be feasible. but it all boiled down to policy dispute between officials in the agency.

without using super hyperbolic claims that cannot be proven...
what is Trump guilty of specifically? in your personal opinion

Maybe I should do some more homework on Nixon before making that claim then. I was mostly referring to wiretapping/surveilling and breaking and entering of the Watergate Hotel. I compare the two because they're highly paranoid individuals who know they can't trust the type of people who will work with them...I think conqueror types are like that...seek to dominate and control individuals in their lives and do not have the normal human reaction to being resented for some reason. Republicans in Congress hate and fear him because he can ruin them with a tweet. The strongest among them has been cast out of their party but Romney is strong enough to win in Utah or as someone else here said carpetbag a seat in another state....and he thinks he can be the face of the coming Trump backlash for some reason.

Trump will get a full 8 because he is delivering so well for his base and his base is large. There will be a backlash at the end like there was with Bush 2, Clinton, and Obama, and other successful presidents. Success meaning they could set an agenda and execute it for better or worse, and get reelected.

tbh i'm not fond of how some of the GoP is treating Romney. i can understand wanting to remove him from the caucus. if he's not consistently voting with the caucus, it makes little sense to carry him on it.
this 1 vote though, has just isolated him from the party. literally everyone is baring teeth. it would have been a mature look to accept his decision even when in disagreement, and let him finish out his term with the caucus. (don't think he's removed from caucus yet though)

to what i've read about Nixon, he "needed" to be impeached. granted i have not spent a large amount of time into the subject and could have read all my comparative facts from only 1 side.
to what i recall though, Nixon was doing a lot of cover-up. not by firing and replacing people to create a more efficient system, but by sending secret teams to destroy political opponents offices or worse.
