the bolded is what i'm referring to
also we have another fellow here called el shadday who identifies as a christian and if i remember correctly he sees jesus as a moral philosopher of sorts
people interpret the bible in many different ways and that's all fine and dandy but i have a strong dislike of arrogant turds who think they've got it right and everyone else is wrong with no real argument other than "muh beleefs!"
But that's the problem. Every Christian thinks that they have hit the spiritual jackpot and their exact way of being Christian is the right one.

Lol.
Let me explain something to you. TheSnipa doesn't know more about the Bible than I do. He doesn't know more about textual criticism than I do, and he sure as hell doesn't know more about it than Widow does. You call his perspective "cerebral", because you perceive his liberal, and franky non-Christian viewpoints, as more logical than the typical Christian's.
I critically analyze my faith all the time. Before I was a firm believer, it was to pursue the truth. Now, it's more of a genuine interest in a greater understanding of the Word of God. There is no "contradiction or discrepancy" posted on PaRD I haven't already read about years ago.
And just because you have seen the contradictions and discrepancies posted before doesn't mean they are any less legit the second, third, fourth time around etc. It just means a lot of people read the Bible and saw the same exact problems within the text.
