Comments written by various psychiatrists, which are now violations of the "Goldwater Rule" put in place stating psychiatrists should not attempt to diagnose public figures they have not personally examined, and violating the rule can leave them open to charges of libel.
A few days ago, 35 such psychiatrists signed a letter making all sorts of libelous condemntations accusing trump of being mentally ill, and in their letter even acknowledged they were violating the goldwater rule, claiming they believe it deserved to be broken in this case.
They really deserve to lose their licenses for the ethics violation at a minimum

I made the same point the other day, it was conveniently ignored. It seems like folks can only bring themselves to care if it fits their narrative.
I mean, it's not a great thing to do, but since it's a public figure I'm not sure if we should be so restrictive on them giving commentary. Libertarians should definitely be against this, but I'm not sure if this is a regulation we should have at the federal level. It seems like something that would be more applicable to the specific organizations that certify the licenses.
