On november 9th the right all joined in a circle and held hands. they rejoiced that a great victory had been won. the unthinkable happened.

and now they begin to tear themselves apart. i can't say i'm surprised, the same smug indignation that the left developed for years during Obama's tenure was readily visible on most Rightists faces the moment Trump won.

To be honest it just seems like Obama 2.0. change candidate gets in, with a mandate, and makes some moves early on. 2 years later he loses his mandate and faces an uphill battle for another 2-6 years and eventually has almost nothing but a foreign policy record for a legacy. This may be a Coolidge presidency afterall.

yes and no.

Obama was shut down at home, and as a result made many poor choices in foreign policy. I think he did this in part because he didn't want to sit on his hands and knew he couldn't get a bill through congress on just about anything. If trump is pushed down the same road we may be in a few more engagements worldwide in the next 4 years, and i'm no Neocon.

In one sense, generally, Trump doing nothing domestically is good if it's things i disagree with. In another sense its bad because we're in a recovering economy and getting sick just as you're starting to heal can be REALLY bad. Certain bipartisan packages will go through no matter what, like big infrastructure packages, so those aren't really effected by the gridlock they just might take a long time due to banter back and forth on specifics but its a bipartisan push for better roads, bridges, etc.

But things like being a justice short on the USSC aren't good, lack of CJ reform and war on drugs especially isnt good, etc. I could make a list of all of the areas of policy and say where gridlock would be ok, but even then we need to dissect sub-sects of those policy umbrellas.

The most funny thing to me is Milo wen't from supporting Trump reluctantly as a potential coolidge candidate to drinking the koolaid and bending over for daddy. i have less confidence in his honesty than Churchgirl tbh.

if rates are allowed to rise and the market does soft adjustments throughout while still headed in its current trajectory, the economy could really be used in his favor.
2018 will be interesting, depending how it goes, the Republicans will have zero excuse for getting nothing that President Trump said would happen done.
as for the bold, well thats his thing so, ya know

to be quite honest i think any tariff on Mexico is going to kill Trump's economy. i mean sure the "i inherited Obama's mess" argument will go with some, but that could legitimately screw that up. that's if it causes the hyperinflation i think it will in some sectors that i think it will if it's a true 30% rip. Raising the lending rate due to a good backing economy is one thing, raising it to shut off inflation in a time of chaotic rearranging of production might not be. if i had to name the one factor i think could make/break trump's economy its that border tax and any deals he might try to wrangle in asia.

Seems like click-bait more than something that will actually happen. I hope, anyway. Albeit this isn't something that just magically started happening under president Trump, as far as deporting immigrants. President Obama actually expanded the capacity to identify, apprehend, & deport unauthorised immigrants & used this to deport 2.5 million people between 2009 and 2015. The difference is Obama instructed ICE to only get people who were targeted in advance, not people who although are also illegal immigrants, happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, so called collateral arrests. Something Trump has no inhibitions about doing. According to the DHS, 75% of the 680 illegals arrested in last weeks raid had criminal records. Which [obviously] means 25% did not. I don't support deporting individuals if they're here working, providing for a family, with no criminal charges.

ya it is indeed click-baity as its only a plan. just the idea of mobilizing nat guard feels so icky to me. and good info for sure on the collateral arrests that's a good point.
