In the context of American politics I don't think it's hyperbolic to call Trump a tyrant. At the very least he's a wannabe tyrant. He's only constrained because of the law and people around him, not his own will.
Trump is the worst president in modern history, but beyond that I don't know. And yes, I'd stand by that without even considering January 6th. But breaking the tradition of a peaceful transfer of power is the worst thing(by far) he did as president, and the fact that he could be re-elected shows how insane the American people are.
