most of it could be automated today, but labor union will sue if they fire too many people and boycotts would kill their sales.

theres nothing on that line that a robot/machine cant do, today.

Kellogg's is thinking the same thing. How can we fire all these people and replace them with automation. But unions and trying to cockblock efficiency basically lining their pockets for as long as they can instead of letting the company expand

if we automated all of the tasks that could be automated we'd have over 50% of the country on welfare and no jobs for them to get. it would be a communist utopia.

why right wingers dont realize that capitalist progress leads to massive unemployment and then socialism has always confused me. the snake eats itself.

Corporations line pockets of those who invest also, which is many people. They innovate and create progress. Without them people would be stuck in Amish paradise.
Western workers don't appreciate the hirachy of a company's interests. They are there to help it grow and expand even if it means making their positions redundant. Instead they hold a company hostage and put on a scene. No wonder all the work goes overseas and to the migrants.

Social safety nets are killing motivation. There are hoards of unproductive bums to take advantage of such gesture. Originally they were designed for those who really needed them to catch them if they fall, now we have people swinging on them.

Capitalism dictates there is no free lunch, you must contribute. Communism/socialism says there is a buffet forever but eventually the food runs out because people forget what you put in you get out.

Some companies have advertising and legal teams so powerful that they can actually convince AMericans to do this without them realizing.

There is definitely pheobus cartels out there. Planned obsolescence is definitely not good especially when it's forced by cartels. But now days you have reviews and multitude of options to buying good quality goods. So there is not much excuse. Also there are more opportunities to create products which are designed to last

Yeah because faking reviews is notoriously difficult

We live in an age where every single industry is dominated by at most five players. These cartels are alive and well and arguably doing better today than I ever have in our history

You mean to tell me you are not sophisticated to do 10 min google search on things like wirecutter and YouTube? To buy a product that will last you a lifetime instead of a cheap garbage?
Also fake reviews are easy to discern, price too good to be true? You don't have a shop to try out the products before you buy? Your friends don't give you feedback? To scared to ask a professional on what tools they use or recommend to save you the hassle with a 5min phone call? It's not hard most things have warranty and money back policies. If you are having trouble just ask heck i can give you recommendations

There is no excuse

There is a growing market for quality products that is being catered if you simply look and ask around. Too many pedestrians without much thought settle for cheap made in China crap and further fuel those industries
