Your stance is confusing because on one hand you seemingly agree with what I said. On the other hand, you're using the same, exaggerated narratives that white supremacists use to justify some pretty horrific things. Maybe it's a Minnesota thing (some people did some things).
To give an example of 'exaggerated narratives' from that 1862 minnesota example, look at the gallows incident from a few years back
Some far-left liberal artist tried to construct an art exhibit of gallows at the walker art center as a way to
denounce the hanging of 38 dakota sentenced to death after the 1862 war. It was intended to draw attention to the dakota as being "survivors of historical trauma" and "genocide", and to criticize capital punishment in general. And then even
farther left mobs protested it and demanded it be destroyed and removed because the artist who made it was white and said she "caused trauma and suffering" by the display. So she agreed to have dakota tribesmen drive up and cut it up with chainsaws and burn it in a public ceremony.
This is of course, talking about how 38 dakota were hung after 303 had been sentenced to death, the rest spared by Lincoln, despite the fact they had all been given death sentences for a genocidal campaign of murder, rape and torture as the dakota tore through Minnesota and slaughtered as many as ~1000 white settlers. The one where they had that particular penchant for cutting fetuses out of pregnant women and nailing them to trees, weird contemporary meme but they seemed to do that a lot.
So to me, this is the kind of historical parallel that we would have if an artist made a recreation of the hanging gallows at the Nuremberg prison's gym, saying their exhibit was meant to denounce the horrible crimes of Americans hanging innocent Nazis, and then the modern day neo-Nazis came along and protested saying their feelings were hurt by even the mere display and felt neo-Nazis had the exclusive right to display of their history and should be consulted before anyone dares appropriate their cultural trauma.
Now consider that the same people involved in that debacle are involved with the administration's push to teach "accurate" history in schools
