Most substantial advances in technology are driven through a collosal spending by governments with no expectation of profits. This is why the govt plays a role in creating entire industries which in turn draws the elon musk types to suck at the government teet as he builds upon what government funded projects have accomplished.

A great example of this is NASA. Probably among the most important innovators in the history of mankind, and funded by tax payers.

Biden didn't stop it but he did delay it. Biden also halted the Favored Nations policy to reduce drug prices.

The key determinant is the quality of the average person in the civilization imo. As I was talking with Thor the other day, Turkey spends 100x less on infrastructure, but their airport looks like a holy monument - meanwhile we have newark airport.

Our average voter is of much lower quality now, and allows politicians to waste more in pork, etc. The infrastructure bill was a Trillion - unprecedented in size - but most of the money will be wasted on junk.

For sake of argument, let's imagine each death was preceded by a Force Publique employee screaming "Long live Capitalism".

The deaths we're talking about are a direct result of placing control over the means of production in the hands of the proletariat led by a communist elite.
