sure. learning how to work with a team is a good part of sports. as is discipline and self-determination. on the other hand no one ever entered sports competitions or events to win. the olympics is all for show anyway

denying the competitive nature of sports is incredibly beta. sports themselves are just a function of the mating ritual of humans, and instead of violent clashes over females we demonstrate value by posterising people interested in personal development with a 2 hand jam.

working together to win is an important part of personal development, working together just to work together is lame af. we've all done team building exercises, they suck ass, even if u win whatever spaghetti and balloons tower building game the people have concocted.

Sports are good for training young me how to be soldiers and work in a platoon, or train for the hunting party, if you're looking for a classical perspective. If you don't do that stuff later after school it is kind of like masterbating in preparation for sex but never getting any, which is even more beta.

Learning to work with a diverse group of people towards a common goal is important for just about anyone who isn't a self employed tradesmen. many times in an office setting ive looked at people the same way i looked at teammates that insisted on taking poor shots on the soccer field rather than passing to try and let another take a better probability shot. and ive tried to work with them the same way i did in sports, basically holding in urges to say "you're bad at kicking, dont shoot" and instead demonstrate that when we score we all score.

also this idea in the context of this thread is incredibly sexist. you're not telling people that sports are about building personal development, you're telling women that they're about personal development, for them. winning isnt in question against females, its only the obverse at play.

Wrestling was so much easier because we had weight classes. In football if a chick could play linebacker she would play linebacker.

We are talking high school sports here, which are only important in Texas to be honest. These teams should be for the kids themselves and I don't think they benefit from conservative child genital inspections no matter how bad the right wants them.

In professional sports the distinction is important. Transgender people have a hard enough life without people working so hard to make their choices more limited.

women already dont have the same luxury, free rides to college and 50k/year in the WNBA is their ceiling already, whereas men can make millions even just riding the bench and get 10x more scholarships. you want to lower their ceiling further, where even winning doesnt matter.

the US women's soccer team uses their winning record as justification they should make more, as the mens team gets paid 10x more to lose embarrassingly. why is winning only important when its to empower women over men, but moot when its to empower trans women over women?

i agree, in all context except sports, menstruation, and child birth.

i give them leeway to call themselves whatever they want and i'll follow suit, wear whatever they want within societal laws, identify in flux even.

i draw the line at one bowling over my daughter some day on a soccer field and destroying her self esteem, and i put a mask on and leave their father toothless if one dares to beat up my daughter. if its a bio female i call the principal in the latter situation and tell her to dust herself off in the former. i dont tell my crying daughter that its ok because sports are just for her to personally development so her getting embarrassed doesnt matter because she's not army bound.
