The good news is that all the Biden 46 merch will get shipped to poor Africans like the Patriots 19-0 merch was, after Pence is president for a day.

It just puts a smile on my face to see the party self destruct like this. Every day is like Christmas.

The GOP has always been at odds with the base. This is what 2016 taught us. If you're just now picking this up you better get a helmet and aid because you are a retard.

funny seeing a swamp demon like liz cheney (R/D - CCP) call the capitol the “most sacred place” in our country. given that our taxpayer-leeching swamp demon politicians have voted there time and time again to send our young people off to die in useless no-win wars in that very building (all so they could profit off the rising stock prices of the armaments companies they awarded favorable contracts to)

if anything Arlington National Cemetery (where many of these young people are buried) is the most sacred place. that or a church, but for warmongering weinstein and moloch-worshippers like icepeon nothing is actually sacred

ah, you'll get over the loss eventually . I suppose Republicans disliked the team but loved the star player before November and slowly approached sore loser hatred level after the election for not unanimously supporting Trump's baseless claims. The true watershed moment was on January 6th when the tanks filled with tears finally burst - ever since then, I have been enjoying seeing the party finally start the grieving process. Christmas televised every day! Sing it with me!

elections you say? like the one they TRIED TO OVERTURN, genius? the reason we're even talking about this in the first place? i can't believe you unironically posted that, not even noticing the absurdity...

Dude, we're not talking about the rioters who stormed the Capitol, we're talking about the House members who refused to cast a symbolic vote for certification. That's virtue signalling to their base, not a serious attempt at overturning the election. Is it bad that they did so, based on a ridiculous lie spouted by Trump? Yes, yes it is! But it doesnt come anywhere near what you're accusing them of, namely inciting deadly violence with their behavior and committing some degree of treason.

furthermore, what they (and you) 'feel' it was is irrelevant. facts don't care about your feelings and #alternative facts.

No buddy, it is your feelings which are irreconcilable with facts. The facts are that these House members did not break any laws with their behavior, and that there is no viable way of punishing them electorally other than by their own voters back home in their own districts. No matter how much you want to see them punished for their heresy, it simply is not upon you to punish them. It's the deeper reason why you're so mad and support (small-d) democratic absurdities like having two thirds of the opposition party expelled by the majority party.

you don't get to punch somebody in the face and expect no repercussion going "well, let's see if my family agrees that this was wrong, or if they feel differently about it"

When I punch someone in the face, he can call the cops and I'll be sued, either by an attorney in a criminal case, or by his lawyer in a civil process.

Do you think that if the repubs actually had more seats and votes this type of stunt would have been pulled off successfully though. Something I've been asking myself..

Republicans would need huuuuge majorities for this to succeed, because there are still a lot of moderate and/or principled persons among them. Folks like Cheney or Katko would never go along with actually overturning an election that was lost fair and square. I dont even think that folks like McCarthy would go there. Like I said, this was virtue signalling to the base by representatives from deep red districts where pro-Trump folks make up a plurality of the electorate. And even then, it's unclear what would happen next after a chamber of Congress refuses to certify the vote of the electoral college.

Anyway, it's clear that the electoral majorities required for any party to pull this off in practice would be so large that it's completely unrealistic for them to have lost the presidential race in this scenario.
