It definitely is a good game, no doubt. Just different strokes for different folks. I've been playing Diablo II and a ton of Baldur's Gate III lately.
Will be interesting to see what the next hype-train is, even though Genshin has maintained some staying power. I anticipate that once Cyberpunk 2077 comes out that it'll be the new hotness.
I like waiting for the definitive edition when it comes to Larian Studios. I'm sure the early access for BG3 is great but I like to immerse myself when I play long games like that. So having a more polished and complete experience is just worth waiting for me. I'm not the kind that replay games at all, so it's best for my own pleasure to almost always wait for games to get a few patches in.
The only game I haven't done that in recent years was TLoU2 just because of the leaks and I knew that that shit would be even worse once it got released. It's hard to get engrossed in a story when you know all the story beats.
I got to say, all these delays have me worried. Although we've known that the last delay for Cyberpunk2077 is almost entirely due to the fact that last gen consoles are fucking old pieces of garbage and the game is just too ambitious for them. Inb4 the resolution goesback to 900p like 2013-2014 games before devs had optimized their tools. Feels bad for gamers that don't have a good PC and/or can't afford the new consoles.
Cyberpunk 2077 is going to sales big, it sort of has to for their dev. They're valuation actually passed Ubisoft's a while back. Combination of hype as fuck from investors but also because polish people feel like it's one of the better shares to grab from their own country. Depending on how the game does and how much it sells, it could have profound influence on how they go about forward. Their shares could plummet HARD if it underperforms.
It's always a big risk to concentrate almost all your man power into one game every 4-5 years especially if you're not part of the first party studios that can rely on Nintendo/Microsoft/Playstation to foot the bill in an effort to chase perfection as they see it.
