Okay dude. Lol.

Yeah having them represented at the DNC has a lot to do with Biden and the Democratic party. They held a memorial for GEORGE FLOYD -- who is the posterchild of BLM. And kneeled for 8+ minutes in his honor on Live TV, demanding a stop to systemic racism. I just a clip of Kamala Harris say we need to end systemic racism the other day again.

Well considering they've gone through residential areas, threatened, beaten, and killed people, engaged in extortion, mass vandalism, 550+ riots, and accumulated over 1 billion dollar in riot damage (and I'll say, it's not that every supporter of the movement engages in riot/violence -- but there's a lot that have, including a leader that called looting "reparations". And a refusal of the organization to call for a stop to violence on many occasions.) They've also called for abolishing the police and have gotten cities to defund their police departments, resulting in increased crime. They have speakers with microphones calling for violence and the crowd just claps? Pretty messed up.

Yet strangely, you never really see similar results to these levels occuring at any Back the Blue Rally, MAGA Rally or anything.

Biden has never once called that organization out by name to condemn it, despite the fact that the group is radicalizing people through it's mantra and creating violence.

Show me a “back the blue” rally where the cops start indiscriminately firing into the crowd and gassing them for standing there peacefully.

It's because she wanted to server until she was no longer able to serve. I'll give credit where credit is due.

fair enough, just run the risk of not being in an advantageous (for her) position of having any sway in the successor

kennedy did retire and he gave gorsuch the thumbsup. still get a kick out of the privileged lefties screaming at an 80 year old kennedy for daring to want to retire. then again most of the privileged lefties either dont work or were handed a job where they really just need to show up due to their privilege

The thing is that the balance of power in the Senate hung by a thread in the 2014 and 2016 elections. It was not clear beforehand that the GOP would take over in 2014; and it was even more of a surprise that they retained it in 2016, with several GOP incumbents who were way down in the polls still pulling it off based on Trump's coattails. (E.g. Ron Johnson in WI and Pat Toomey in PA.)

RBG probably didnt expect Democrats to be out of power in the Senate for 6 years straight, starting as early as January 2015.

This is correct. I'm convinced that she would have retired under Obama if she would have known that TRUMP > HRC in 2016. Also, factor in your point about the Senate.

Now Trump gets another seat filled - hopefully with Amy.

(D) gambled, lost, and are now going full simple jack at this point.

True, but it was already too late for her to "safely" retire before the 2016 nominees were even known, since the GOP held the Senate since early 2015. Effectively, she would have had to retire before the 2014 midterms to be on the safe side, and I can understand that she felt that to be too early.

She took a calculated risk, but then all hell broke loose and the absolute worst case scenario from her point of view materialized (GOP holds Senate for 6 straight years starting in January 2015; Trump comes from behind to notch a surprise win in 2016; her cancer recurs early in Trump's term; by only a few weeks, she barely fails to hang in there long enough to run out the clock and make it impossible for Trump and Senate Republicans to confirm her successor before inauguration day).

With how quickly Congress moves, I'd be shocked if they could pull that off. Also, it'd probably look really bad if the Senate jumped through hoops to get this done while not taking Covid negotiations seriously. My money would be on the lame duck period.
