Both parties do it because they’re run by neocon hawks. I mean look how difficult it is to take troops out of like anywhere. It’s immediately met with a chorus of 375 points why it’s a bad idea.
There’s also the fact that these are hugely profitable ventures. You really think the CIA or DOD wants to lose xx% of their funding? Military/us govt contractors have built multi billion dollar corporations off the back of these engagements
Lockheed, Raytheon, Northrop just to name a few.
