As for them being involved in the protests? They're there. But in a supporting role. The vast majority of arrestees that have been doing violence or causing trouble have been local gang memebers or known criminals with no antifascist org connections.
The chatter among them is pretty simple - follow black leadership. Support and defend if attacked. Most are either taking the role of street medics or documenting far-right presence.
