The surveillance video from immediate prior to the pursuit and shooting has been released/leaked

Quote
The video shows a man wearing a white shirt and shorts, who appears to be Arbery, 25, walking down Satilla Drive on that Sunday afternoon. It shows the man walk into the garage of a house under construction and then walk around back of the house. The tape indicates that man was on the construction site less than five minutes, much of the time out of view of the camera. He did not appear to take anything from the house.Soon after the figure in shorts and t-shirt enters the construction property, a man wearing what appears to be overalls walks near a stand of trees across the street from the site and the figure appears to be observing the construction site.A minute later, after a car passes, a figure that appears to be Arbery comes out of a front door of the house quickly and runs down the road in the direction of Travis McMichael’s home on Satilla Drive.

Arbery is seen at 2:09 (timestamp off by an hour) entering the garage of one of the homes under construction. At 2:12 a neighbor appears and starts making phone calls, apparently the same person who made a 911 call about a break-in, and stops and watches the property Arbery is trespassing through. 2:13 Arbery is seen running out the front door of the house at full sprint and takes off down the street. 2:15 the McMichaels are seen getting to their truck, apparently alerted to the break-in and pursue him.
Arbery is very clearly seen trespassing into the home and entering it through the garage, staying inside for ~4 minutes and then emerging through the door, so he had to be passing through the inside of the home, and was seen by the neighbor on the 911 call and the McMichaels

None of this seems like it deserves the death penalty.

specious reasoning begone
Self-defense isn't a death penalty. If you charge someone and try to kill them, they're allowed to defend themselves with immediate force, not request a court hearing and litigation with due process in the splitseconds between getting their head bashed in and getting shot with their own gun.

Not if you cornered that person at gunpoint..
Why does the UNARMED guy not get to defend himself?

ya right, how dare he 'charge' two innocent good boys just minding their own business in their car, and totally not confronting him with drawn firearms in a hostile manner...

absolutely mindblowing what kind of mental gymnastics racist scum engages in to 'justify' the murder of a black dude. disgusting doesn't even begin to describe it...

It feels like the best way to get away with murder is to just walk up gun drawn and tell them you are going to shoot them.

There's nothing absolutely mindblowing about these threads, we've already had the same song and dance routine play out for Trayvon, Michael Brown, Jamar Clark, Stephon Clark, etc etc
At this point we're all basically just reading the same script we've been through a half a hundred times.

Public court already bought the narrative and accepted racist whites gun down innocent black. The minutiae of inconvenient facts will largely be ignored by the mob. I wonder if a news platform like MSNBC will bother showing this video even though it's so crucial to understanding what happen.

Problem with doing this time after time is you don't actually get buy in from most of society. A healthy portion of people think that the people who don't agree that this was a lynching and those whites should get a murder charge are essentially racists, white supremacists, etc. But how can a moral being who sees the victim very obviously doing something wrong by trespassing or Mike Brown manhandling some Indian corner shop owner, ignore those obvious preceding events? Is the guy being shot to death a proportional punishment for trespassing? Probably not, but when you engage in doing something illegal you open yourself up to these type of natural consequences.

Any bets the murder guys get linked to white power groups? I’m curious

In the case of Michael Brown there was corroborated evidence that Wilson was acting in self defence. The officer was approaching Brown, who had just committed a robbery.

Conflating a case like that with this case where there was no such crime committed just shows what a hack you are.
