Joe Biden projected winner in Texas by ~3-4%, but exit polling showing that votes cast today were something like +10-20% Biden, so Sander's only held the early vote.

This is really fucking strange to me. I think what this says is that people just want someone who can "win." But boy, did Biden surge or what? It's pretty fucking amazing to see.

you don't actually think that sanders 'reaching out' (can you explain how you imagine that could have looked please?) would have changed anything about the DNC's attitude towards him, or even prevented the curious case of the magic and sudden consolidation of the corporate vote just in time for super tuesday, do you?
it's one of those hilariously transparent 'if only he had done xyz - it's totally his fault he's getting screwed by the people who have been screwing him anyway repeatedly for years now' attempts to frame principles and backbone as arrogance or presumptuousness.

How exactly is Bernie getting screwed?

He's still getting the ~25% that he was getting before. The only difference is that he's no longer able to rake in strong pluralities with such a low vote share because he's no longer competing against a hyperfractured field where four freaking candidates split the moderate lane.

The simple and brutal truth that you refuse to acknowledge is that Bernie never, at no point, came even close to having majority support among the Democratic primary electorate. The DNC didnt have to screw or cheat Bernie - all they had to do was make sure that his rivals stop cockblocking each other and instead rally around the strongest of them.

And just for the record: I share your sentiment that Biden is a pretty pathetic candidate, and that it's not reflecting well on the Democratic party that they couldnt find a better "establishment candidate" than sleepy joe.

I gotta say... after New Hampshire, myself and a lot of other PaRDians were writing Biden off, and when you chimed in and said that Biden will be fine and will come back strong, I thought you were delusional. In the end, you were absolutely right; Biden's surge has exceeded my wildest expectations.

I don't think many people would've predicted this. Some people must've won big in political betting sites. I can tell you that Biden still didn't believe it, just before the start of his speech when he was hanging about you totally saw his face. Twas' disbelief written all over.

Looking at the results in wealthy suburbs around DC, Boston, Dallas etc, it seems as if the boost in turnout that Bernie was promising all the time did finally materialize - in favor of his opponent.

Funniest things is how many 3rd places Bloomberg is in. Warren might've eviscerated him on stage in his first debate but not enough people watched it even though it broke records. A lot of voters just saw his ads and decided to vote for him without doing any research. Ground game worthless, just spend dat cash money.

I mean, I don't think I said he'd necessarily come back strong, but I did say he'd be fine. After SC, I didn't expect Pete and Amy to drop out immediately and I figured Biden would do really well in ONLY the South. Biden flat out killed it tonight and this is going to go down in history. Bernie is completely fucked barring Tulsi and Warren just torpedoing Biden at the next debate.

Biden needs a time machine and tell his younger self not to stress too much about not winning Primaries. 32 years later by being a centrist trying to work with republicans... Those primary wins will just come trickling down...

Biden didn't kill it, dude's a weak moron. The people who killed it are center right Democrats who think they are moderate. They propelled the worst fucking candidate possible to the front seat.

you said yourself that bernie wouldn't even be able to fully implement the majority of his policies (which i agreed on btw), so how would that be 'rapid' change? he would, however, make a start in trying to fix the underlying problem, which is the corporate ownership of american politics, which you also pretended to identify as the core problem in a previous post. so how does voting for biden types solve any of that, even 'someday'? that simply makes no sense. let me just fix that for you:

see? that way it's logically coherent, and you don't have to pretend that you cared about stuff like corporate owned politicians or universal healthcare anymore. and that is of course a perfectly valid stance to have, especially if it benefits you personally. i've said that before btw. the thing that i can't stand is people pretending to care about those things, but then still voting for politicians who are the embodiment of the opposite. all i'm saying is that you can't have it both ways...

i dont know how many times i can illustrate the same point for you. bernie will get nothing done, biden will hold the obama era status quo and get a few things done. as someone who supports many progressive ideas in the long term but is also afraid of the consequences of rapid change Biden is preferable to Bernie, even if Bernie can't literally get anything done. im not having anything both ways, i cant be more clear than im already being so this is your last shot to just get it man.
