No lmao, half of my time at lived at home either paying for college / vehcile / living expenses / saved other times i just lived in a small apartment while in college and working 40 hours

Some ppl think im crazy, work too much and think i dont have fun (lmao) but idk man if it is just priorities or what

Should add...no roommates ever

i was lucky had great roommates during undergrad - still very close with two of them to this day. but after that i swore off roommates, just liked having my own solitude at the end of the day. it required being boring a lot of time in the beginning of my career but i was happy with it and it worked out fortunately.

that said roommates are a great way to save money for the long haul when one is younger and working.

i enjoy working but i work in what i kinda like and im fairly decent at it so if you work a lot but you like it, there’s nothing crazy about it imo

I just always had or have part time jobs. Even have some now. I think im the type to want two full time careers though

Roommates just can go sour very quickly if you arent on common grounds i think. Id only ever live with my immediate family again if needed. If my siblings needed a place later in life they could easily stay with me but not freeload and just degenerate.

I also like to think i have nice things too. Like quality clothes and cookware and some gadgets with minimal debt. Idk ppl consume way too much imo sometimes but i think the whole thing with the housing prices and stuff is government forcing crap etc. Not sure how to articulate it completely

side jobs are essential for getting ahead imo, and one is able to determine their own schedule with them. unless one is making money hand over fist in their career position and they live in a low cost of living area, i would say it is almost stupid not to. so many good and services people would happily pay for you can even weave in your own hobbies into it if you’re in a position to.

consumption drives growth. not everyone can save all the time.

as for the topic lol yeah, lets let government set rules and prices on an asset such as real estate and housing
they only made it basically mandatory to provide mortgages with anyone with a pulse 15-odd years ago what could possibly go wrong there

Im too young to know about this, but it does seem that is what common sense is stating what happened. It does seem why college is in the similar bind. The worse part about all this is it seems nobody wants to admit some shit doesnt work and just try to dress it up in different rhetoric

it was horrible lol I graduated right after the depths of that shit
just watch some documentaries or films on it it’ll tell you everything you need, and ironically schools “teach” it for a premium now and a film like margin call or too big to fail will explain it better.

as for the bold well you’re dead on there lol. if i could go short on anything it’d be student debt. warren wants to magically expel it it’s so bad

its a more toxic asset than bad mortgages - at least there are assets that can be resold there. you can’t repackage or do a fixer-upper or a giveback on someone’s diploma lmao

Get the fuck outta that shithole. My buddy’s aunt just had to fly down to Florida for a surgery they denied letting her have because your healthcare system sucks.

hmm interesting, I had no idea housing markets were that stressed in that area. does oil play a roll? is in are a lot of people immigrating in for that work and/or property costs include increases because of the industry?

oil is out much further west in alberta, toronto is in ontario which is on the eastern side, but yes the housing market in southern ontario is fucked

I'd love details. What specific surgery? Doesn't mean much if she was denied breast implants after all.
