Why would rich business owners, especially ones who benefit from illegal immigration want lowers rates of immigration? The opposite is true. Bring on as many as you can so i can pay construction workers 1/2 i'd have to pay an American. My cousin has a roofing business. Guy has felons workings for him because he can pay them 15/hour while a non-felon would expects 20+ for skilled roofing work. Having more felons available would be a net positive for him considering he can offer even less or be more selective if more want those jobs. Same concept.

Nothing you said contradicts the bolded. They want more illegal immigrants, and they want the immigrants to be alienated so they can be easier to exploit. Ink said earlier in the thread he doesn't think the wall will reduce illegal immigration, but it will make society more hostile and therefore less likely to see them as sympathetic when they suffer exploitation or abuse.

Learn to read. I said the wall won’t stop a single illegal immigrant that a conservative wants to hire. It won’t lower shit. It just makes it easier to shake them down.

And yeah, conservatives also support tough on crime laws that create more felons that they can exploit for prison labor and low cost labor after release. You’re making my points for me you absolute fucking genius.

Wanting more illegal immigrants and being for building barriers to prevent more illegal immigrants when you directly benefit from them sounds nonsensical.

That's quite the logical reach. The barrier won't reduce illegal immigration but somehow shift opinion from sympathetic to hostile. Some next level synaptic connections you guys are making from thin air.

I have yet to see any real evidence that a wall would be effective in our southern border. Most illegal immigration takes place in the form of overstayed green cards, and a wall is as easily breached as our current fence. That is unless you want some ridiculous 25 foot monstrosity that would cost trillions to maintain.... but that's not a reasonable expectation.

Meanwhile a monument to keeping brown people on the other side of the border would definitely help instill a cultural shift away from sympathies to immigrants.

A high enough wall would probably limit how easily people that are overweight, disabled, small kids, etc can cross. Again common sense, if you only had an iq above 80.

I'm not a proponent for the wall but walls have worked. The Great Wall of China, the Berlin Wall, etc. I don't expect the same effects but to expect that crossing rates would be higher or the same with some barrier is incredibly dumb.
