He said he was not involved in the nomination.

The emails etc., indicate he was involved in the pre-nomination only. But get your hopes up, if it makes your day.

He testified he wasn't involved in handling Pryor's nomination. That could be technically true. But he also stated he was involved in "important confirmation hearing issues." I think perjury is a fair possibility here.

Perhaps it could be better answered with the release of more documents? I mean, there's a clearer reason now why the GOP hasn't complied with those requests.

perjury the crime, sure. perjury the charge? lol. i think Trumps doj has a better chance of firing mueller outright than bringing perjury charges to Kav. unless there's some other body that would do it im unaware of.

I agree it's unlikely.

I think Kavanaugh's political ties would have raised questions on most nominees in the past. But it's clear the nomination process for lifetime appointees has become increasingly partisan over time. It's a different game now. We don't even have the filibuster anymore.
