that seemed to be part of reasoning at city hall.. it needs further investigation, but at first glance It seems like the list of those to potentially ban were not patriotic enough or didn't donate enough to politicians.. full with loopholes. remplace a plastic handle and it stops being an assault rifle.
either accept a law and close the holes, not soly focussing on assault or look at another way to define the guns to ban

There is no real definition, its just a term that gets thrown around a lot.
To me its any semi auto with an easily exchangeable magazine, so pretty much all of them.
They will all do the same job in a pinch.
