I'm not a weirdo chauvinist who supports Trump so I didn't post this because of that. I'm just relaying what I think the best information is right now. It was a very bad mistake by the flight crew, aided by ridiculous regulations by the military and FAA.

"dei" been practiced in military for at least 40 years. just 25 years ago (i got my peter wet) bill clinton worked to expand it to genital people.

"dei" until recently has been hard to measure. if something out side the public is funded and controlled its hard maybe impossible to know if its 'legit?
the breakout tell all is what happened to bud light and later to target. that is when it was fairly obvious "dei" wasnt legit or call it "artificially boosted"
then the real question is? "who da fug is doing all this crap? for what purpose?

Whatever the cause of the crash... DEI is a separate issue.
It's as messed up as affirmative action was.

For jobs like Burger King or the like... sure hire whatever makes your quota warm.

For high tech jobs... hire the folks that know how to do them.

It isn't even about politics either. Personally I want my doctors, flight controllers, etc., to BE the best of the best.
If folks can't or won't put in the time and effort to become highly skilled in a field, then they shouldn't get the job.

Dei wasn't made to get people jobs they doi not deserve, it was created to prevent just giving the job to the less qualified white male every time, have you ever worked in a corporation?

from what Ive read, and I could be wrong, the air controller was doing the jobs of two people. if the tower was properly staffed then this wouldnt have happened

DEI is just too perfect a scapegoat. White losers are Trumps core demographic (see his unwavering support right in this forum) and they are also the ones who profit the most from structural racism. Too dumb to get good jobs by merit, too entitled to realize they are at fault themselves - it's the better qualified minorities fault. As an establishment shill, my opinion is we need to rely on actual experts to analyze the crash and propose changes so it never happens again. I'm hoping that this will still happen in the midst of Trump and his cult distracting us with talk about DEI.
