And you wanted a title that said "Dartmouth study finds democrats are the least tolerant students towards other students, public figures and speakers of opposing political views or affiliation on campus"?
As herodotus recounts, when the samians petitioned sparta for aid, they reduced their speech to 'the bag needs flour'
The study found that democrats were the least tolerant students 'between democrats and republicans'
"Survey suggests Democrats at Dartmouth are less comfortable living with someone of opposing political views"
Not so hard.
No, the study did not find that Democrats were the least tolerant students. They found that Democrats at Dartmouth were less likely to be comfortable living with someone specifically of opposing political views. This says nothing about their overall tolerance towards any other groups, nor does it say anything about the general population of Democrats outside of this specific college.
It's propaganda, and you know it.
And damn, look at the giant sample size:

Or this quote:

It also makes sense that Republican students are the most comfortable about living with those who hold opposing political views, because conservative college students often find themselves as a political minority on campus. If conservative students refused to live with their liberal peers, it would be more difficult to find a roommate.
Or how about the fact that it was an opt-in survey with about 10% response rate, with different proportions of responses from each political party. No selection bias there or anything!
