It used to be one of the wealthiest nations and has incredible resources.. yet faced serious struggles and repression under more socialist and authoritarian control.
They had a great depression 1998-2002 and in 2001 they defaulted..
They have recently elected a 'center-right moderate" that has taken some steps to reverse some bad policies.
More equal income but poorer and less free people is not the american dream.
