After the Hamas fighters had gone full cavemen with their blood rage, they had a triumphant return to Gaza. With abused hostages in tow, they returned to enthusiastic cheers from the residents and high praise from their allies in Lebanon, Yemen and Iran.
  
• Third, neither of them accepts Israel's right to exist. Hamas officials even went as far as explicitly saying in the wake of the Oct 7 attack that they are proud of what they had done and would do it again whenever given the opportunity; that they won't stop until Israel is eradicated. Similar rhetoric has been coming from Hezbollah, the Houthis and their puppeteers in Teheran for many years. And Hezbollah not only aligned itself with Hamas and its cause verbally, but also with concrete actions. They aided and abetted their efforts by opening a second front in the north of Israel, shelling the villages and towns over there for months on end while the IDF was busy in the south in Gaza.
  
• Fourth, if this whole conflict was only about land, water or about past crimes by Israel/the Jews against the Palestinians, then Hamas wouldn't have indiscriminately kidnapped, raped or butchered Westerners, Christians, atheist and even Thai farm workers during their raid on Southern Israel. These islamists very clearly see all non-Muslims and all free, democratic societies as their enemy; Israel is just the biggest and most acute stumbling block standing in their way.
