The right-wing has been pushing the anti-mainstream media narrative for so long, and Trump/alt-right people have taken it a step further by declaring legit outlets who write critically of Trump fake news. It's incredible how smart, conservative people can be so divorced from reality.

Nothing wrong with finding the news media untruthful. The concern is the insane number of people who are so brainwashed they think the administration is truthful, despite constant demonstrably false claims that anyone with a smartphone can fact check in about 10 seconds.

We're at a point now where people have lost the ability to distinguish truth from lies and reliable information from unreliable. This has never been as much of a problem in the past as it is now and is probably the biggest issue the country is facing. To be clear this was a problem ever since the popularization of the Web and especially social media, the administration seems to have capitalized on the country's newfound stupidity. This social media manipulation is how Trump got elected in the first place and it's how they are going to do anything they want: you barely even have to try to get people to accept lies.

Nobody's fault, just an organic consequence of the social media and mass information era. It's just really sad.

or he posts meme lies because its fun and never wanted to be held up to a journalistic standard of proof because he doesn't take anything seriously. we cant hold people to standards they dont want.

I can call a liar a liar no matter what he sees himself as

contributing to a massive problem this country is currently having with lies, misinformation, and alternative facts may be fun to some weird nerd but this is supposed to be the grown up section

I don't hold him to journalistic standards I hold him to decency standards and his lack of integrity and his dedication to spam deserves heavy criticism

that's true to a point, and of course you're free to do what you want, just consider that the heavy criticism might be his end goal, not his end.
