The 1902 brawl was shameful. The caning of sumner was shameful. The rules say "don't be cunts to one another", you don't get to impugn motives since its a caustic form of baseless insult which serves no constructive purpose. The rule was never a partisan one, its over a century old. Both sides have always abided by the decorum by playing nice even when mocking each other. If senator warren had brought in nice big one of her own turds sealed in a plastic bag, pulled it out and hurled it at the side of sessions head, even if it was done in a calculated partisan way for "good optics", it would still be shameful.

the rule isn't partisan, the application is. otherwise Cruz would have been in violation. they pick and choose when and where they want to apply it, they stepped in it and are now trying to spin it like this is is some violation they couldn't ignore because "rules". they fucked up, and are trying to cover their tracks. and who is it that calls for these votes on the rule? must be an independent referee eh?

glad to see you think a letter from CSK is a bag of shit though.

Just to add one more thing. I'm not against "free trade" and would love nothing more than that to be reality. The problem is we don't actually have free trade. Look at the other economic power houses on the globe. China, Japan, Germany ALL have tariffs on US goods, meanwhile we import their stuff for free. The temporary protectionism is necessary to level the field, until one day the other big economies want actual "free trade" and stop protecting their industries and suppressing our exports with tariffs.

The rule doesn't apply to what you say to the media, in press conferences, to your dog or what you say to yourself in a mirror by candlelight while summoning beelzebub.

ya i am not 100% sure how this applies to what i said or specifically what i said, it is wooshing me. one party controls senate, and one party is in control of when this rule is voted or or at the least presumably when it will pass, and that party doesn't choose to apply it all of the time. all i'm saying is this generally well thought out rule is just as partisan in its application as can be. now if we had a good example of one senator calling another a goat fucker or something then the whole senate standing arm and arm to send a clear message across party lines after the vote was automatically triggered by a "rules violation" then sure. but as it stands it seems like a tool they're using to cover up the pot hole they stepped in, plain and simple.

THIS IS GREAT.

trump first hates Kelly, then he came around, now she's going to get the thunder i'm sure. I'm starting to like this judge even more and i already thought he should be confirmed.

the best part is this is a guy Trump can't now lash out against. 1, because he didn't name specifics. and 2, because if he does he undermines his own pick

so all of the senators reporting this guys words will get the whipping boy treatment. i look forward to some right handed shillery talking about how this is all out of context and the judge isn't even talking about trump!

It'll be interesting to see the reaction from Spicer/Conway/etc. Trump is incapable of taking the high ground, so now he has to pretend Gorsuch didn't actually say what was reported.
