duffman, if I had a big mac for every time you posted a screencap of some inane post/conversation from twitter/tumblr/facebook/text messages then followed it up with an open-ended question with an answer you're obviously implying based on that screencap, I'd be morbidly obese.

i had a not so different conversation with a friend of mine last week

this mentality seems to be everywhere - ironically said friend i talked to initially played a big role in getting me onto healthier foods but now he's got depression and started eating junk and can't seem to bring himself out of it

My experience is the opposite. I have some male friends who obsess over their weight so much you would think they're women.

I weigh myself every day and if I get up to a certain number I stop buying 2 liters of coke for awhile.

But the key is slow positive changes over time.

[1:22 p.m.] Nathan - "post a 6 year-old ridiculous screencap from tumblrbook and ask an open-ended question whose answer is obviously implied".

It's insane to me that a thread on making someone feel bad goes 118+ pages. At the individual level, no shaming, at the societal level , advocate healthy practices, but recognize people's right to choose, that's what freedom is all about. If you're not paying their bills or in a relationship with them myob. If it's someone you care about, use a little tact. It's really that simple. It's ironic that some of the people calling out fatties for bad health choices advocate for recreational drug legality or smoke cigarettes.

I personally pay a lot of attention on what I eat and track calories/protein/etc. Maintaining your body via weightlifting and healthy eating is an entertaining hobby
