I pulled them a year ago when bickering with Many Names. That is part of a larger number, something about awarded contracts and adjusting for inflation. The annual commitment is 3.8bn annually I believe, but Oct 7* spurred up a bunch more on top of that. Can try to find them again

This was around the time Many Names discounted US entirely and our support. Now the user complains. I do concede Israel is a strong nation, but fact is they receive massive aid.

Thats pocket change in reality. Think how much intelligence the US gets from Israel/Mossad on the region as a whole. Plus a strategic ally next to one of the most vital shipping chokepoints.
Arguably its more important for the US' allies that depend on global shipping/energy. UK, EU, Japan, South Korea, but if anyone in the US think they won't need allies for any future conflict in Asia then they are kidding themselves.

The $158B is not inflation-adjusted, so the real figure in today's dollars is much higher. There's also a ~$14B extra in emergency security assistance that was approved in April and a ~$9B in humanitarian assistance (though part of that number goes to Gaza).

Pocket change. Throw out a number that you think it is then. Adjusted for inflation.

Exactly, so the 'you are not doing enough' rhetoric does no good. US has given and continues to give, and despite the facade of controversy, will keep up with the annual payments.

Israel needs to do better

$2000 per head in a year is pocket change? That's more than Biden promised his base for votes.

Add the annual with the emergency funds minus Gaza (last 12 months) and say it's $20bn, and y'all have about 10mil* population. If that is pocket change I'm poor as hell

At bold I completely agree, Netanyahu has to go and reforms need to take place; Time will tell.

Its absolutely pocket change in the grand scheme of things. No disrespect but we are all pretty much poor as hell in comparison to the US national budget.
My point is there are probably way less value for money things in that budget than supporting a staunch ally.

It is clearly fair for americans to ask, is my money being well spent once it goes to Israel. That goes back to the original point of the IDF and Israeli government, doing better.

With quick math I'm getting roughly $320B when adjusting for inflation; I don't think the US has given more foreign aid to another country (that's like 2 Marshall Plans).

The lack of gratitude for basically keeping them alive through aid and the ever looming threat of getting bombed by the US in retaliation is the part I have a problem with, not so much the money itself.

I'm arguing for tax dollars to be spent on citizens well being instead of foreign nations especially those who work their hardest to trash our people's history and culture
