Walking back his statements on murky issues with room for interpretation, or contradicting tweets he wrote 10 years ago, that's one thing. He can get away with that. But pretending like he had been expecting a pandemic all along is completely ridiculous and shameless after he had been acting as the placator in chief for 2 months. There's just too much very recent evidence for his downplaying efforts which people are still aware of.

It's baffling to check out the Conservative page on Reddit and see not only a lack of criticism for Trump's handling of the situation, but the proactive denial. None of this is Trump's responsibility.
