The funny part is Charlie was a milquetoast middle of the road conservative.
They have no idea what is coming.

Pretty sure the left needed a win here. They were set up with a big one. Between Epstein and The economy getting better slower than expected they were poised for a MAJOR mid term. But just like Trump’s multiple assassination attempts bumped his numbers this will most likely light a fire for the right.

The right will go even more extreme and people will support it. Why? Because every time the left gets a leg up to point out the right is “more extreme” some idiot comes out of the woodwork and screws things up.

It’s the curse of the left for trying to be “too inclusive”. You always end up allowing the nutters in too.

Is it wholesome though. Part of me believes or maybe I simply convinced myself that the way people communicate online is exaggeration because of how polarized things are. Like two dogs barking through a fence only to act normal once the fence is removed.

Could have just convinced myself and the truth is the annonimity allows people to convey their true thoughts. I would have historically thought that was valid, but less so now where polarization seems to lead to people getting satisfaction from winding each other up.

I think part of it is when you’re online discussing politics the only thing people see of the other person is their political beliefs. I have lots of friends in the real world who have different political view points from me. But they’re people who you know and engage with on more things than just politics.

Online discussing politics, the only thing people see is someone’s political views. It takes the humanity out of the discussion.

I don't think its exaugurated because if you watch Antifa, they straight up tell you that it is okay to punch Nazis, again this isn't just edge lords posting in anonymity. The thing is that label has been essentially broadened to include pretty much everyone that disagrees with them.

You don't believe this man that put on a dress and took some hormone blockers is a real woman? You deserve to be punched. So out of a sample pool of 100k, maybe 10k are willing to insult, 1k are willing to punch or spit and maybe 5 people are so fucking gone that they are willing to go make molotovs or shoot someone with a rifle.

I mean you have always had the fringe groups in society. I can't speak to numbers, I'm just not up on it to know if those groups have vastly broadened their base. I suspect you still have gatherings of people standing with sheets over their heads. We just have vastly more noise, it echos all over the internet and it's your face more now as a result.

It truly does bring out the worst in all of us. I'm 90% sure I'd be friends with most people on here in any irl setting.

You keep trying to both sides this issue while reality just doesn't support it.

Maybe there are people gathering with sheets over their head. I never seen or heard of such but i'm sure there are some somewhere in bumfuck Mississippi or Alabama, what i do see though is Antifa assaulting people pretty much on any footage of some protest.

Between Iryna and Charlie getting murdered how many Hobby Lobby do you see looted or how many city halls are in flames today?

By all accounts the shooter was not a lefty and more likely a republican, so I don't see how your point applies. The one thing the US right has is an insane propaganda machine funded as a direct result of them suffering consequences for their actions once. They do not care for truth and apparently neither do their supporters.

I didn't even consider sides when making those posts. That's just an example that jumped to mind. When I was younger a black family moved here and the first thing that happened was a burned cross in their yard. Guess the memory always stuck since I always thought well that's not what my family thinks but now these poor bastards probably think we all hate them.

I think things just cause significantly more noise these days. Everyone's been given a platform and rather than just a news story on our 3 channel TV it spans across the world rapidly with everyone and their dog pitching in comments to get the other person opposing to give them a reaction.

I think you thinking the way you are probably only feeds the satisfaction that they're getting this reaction out of you.

Sadly our entire social media has been built on "reactions".

I can digest the possibility that I'm also just grasping were not so far gone as to one may conclude based on the current political environment. And that I myself am not seeing the full picture clearly.

We already know that’s not true. His friend already did several interviews with news people saying he grew up rough being the ONLY liberal in his highly conservative family. Literally his FRIENDS said this.

My last information was that his literal grandma said he was MAGA, did that turn out to be false?

Don’t know. Haven’t read it to be honest. I know two of his high school buds he gamed with came forward and said his family was hard on him because his views didn’t match theirs.

This is one of them. I’ve read about 2 separate people. The other one said basically the same thing except that his family bullied him about it or something to that extent.
