Right? Because economics/engineering/manufacturing processes are the primary responsibility of the State Department.

Trump's entire platform was Obama's failed McDonalds economy.

That's nice. It's not a certification, and there's like an 80% chance you just learned about it this week which is why you've waited this long to claim membership.

Anyways... Tillerson is going to help a lot of companies. Especially nutrition and pharma import/exporters.

That doesn't change the simple fact that State's responsibility isn't the economy. It deals with diplomacy and foreign relations.

That why a US citizen pays 2300/year -> leverage in diplomacy and foreign relations.

Yet, they interfere in it all the time. Economic matters are very important to a lot of people.
Diplomacy and foreign relations are also related to the health of the economy. (Whether its trade policies like tariffs, sanctions, free trade or "free trade" crony deals, 'defense' tax/spending that drags real production, etc)

I'd say quality of life for its citizens is a job for a government as well. This includes economics..
I believe his point was more make it clear that importance of economics is more represented in current/recent campaigns, due to the focus of the public on the crisis.
/e and ofc because ppl vote egocentrically..

Entitlements outweigh defense spending by a factor of 10 and are far less important compared to defense.
