You tell me, why'd trump lie about the FBI planting documents?

I don't know if he lied or not, but lying about things is technically not illegal.

Anyway, you didn't address my point. Maybe Trump isn't refusing to hand over the documents. Maybe he's simply taking a good while. If this is true, then you cannot say he has committed a crime.

Lying to the fbi is literally illegal. If this was the iron clad gotcha you think it is, trump's shitty lawyers would be using it.

As far as i understood trump took some documents from the white house. Some of them were top secret. He did not return them after they asked to return them. Therefore they came and took it back.

Whats the problem in all that? Seems totally legitimate to me. You could replace trump with anyone else and it would still be 100% legitimate.

He is not above the law

Did he say he refuses to return them? The only way you can say hes committed a crime is if he literally refused to return them. But you haven't proven such is the case. Its like I said, maybe he is simply being slow.

Also, were the FBI simply trying to recover those documents? Did they state that that was the reason for the raid, or was there something else. I was under the impression that we didn't know why the judge authorized the raid.

He committed a crime because he isnt the president anymore and took top secret files. And yes they requested it.

No wonder he didnt want to release the warrant himself.

And did he say, "No, I refuse to return the papers"?

But you cannot prove that he has no intention of returing those documents. Like I said, he could just be taking a long time.
